Kafur, Malik, The Muhrdar
(?-1322)
Holding the important office of the keeper of the royal seal (muhrdar) under Khusrau Shah, he fought on the latter's side during the struggle that ensued from the declaration of jihad by Ghazi Malik (later Ghiyas al-Din Tughlaq) against Khusrau. After Ghiyas al-Din Tughlaq was pro-claimed sultan (1320), Malik Kafur joined his service and was ap-pointed wakil-i dar. In 1322, while accompanying Prince Ulugh Khan (later Muhammad bin Tughlaq) during an expedition against Warangal, he was executed for his mutinous behavior.
